Using the Catalogue

Using the catalogue

periodical index
The Catalogue
  • lists all the books, journals, video recordings, dissertations, etc. owned by all 40+ U of T Libraries

  • does not allow you to search for articles (shows if the library subscribes to the journal)

  • can be searched freely by anyone 24/7

Finding books is a two step process:

  1. Search the catalogue
  2. Locate the book by its call number

Term paper topic:

The community structure of the Great Lakes has been impacted by alien invaders. Define the problem. Give examples.

Basic search

1. Enter alien invasions in the search box to find items with these words together in the same field (i.e. both words in the title, or both words in the same subject heading, etc.)

2. There are only two books from this search. There must be more!
